This resource is intended to support a field trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to study the Great Depression and FDR's New Deal.
Students will study New Deal programs focusing on the WPA and its funding of public art. Students will evaluate and debate the role of art, as well as the role of government. This will be centered around an analysis of a painting currently on view at the Met.
