The Australian Gold Rush: Weight Conversions: Ounces to Grams
In this activity, students are given the names of 10 gold nuggets that have been discovered in Australia. They are also given the location and date of each discovery. Students are also provided with the weight of each nugget. (in ounces Troy) They must convert the weight of each nugget to grams. They must round each weight to the nearest one decimal place.
You may want students to use a calculator for this activity, or there is an online gold weight conversion calculator which allows students to convert from ounces troy (t oz) to grams. (g)
