Do you ever have trouble with kids grasping the concept of CVCe words and/or rules? Do they need lots more practice and review? If you answered with a “yes” to either question, this is the game packet for you! This packet is jam packed with fun and memorable activities and games used to reinforce the sometimes difficult concept of CVCe words. Kids will love the games and be excited to practice the skills. The games in this packet require NO PREP TIME from the teacher. Just print and go! You will need to provide crayons and six sided dice. Games can be used at centers, Daily 5, RTI times, small group work, or even early finishers.

This "Missing Vowels" dice game will quickly become a favorite in your classroom. It is such a fun way to interact with CVCe words and patterns. These games can be played in centers, pairs, RTI groups, Daily Five activities, or even during independent practice time. It is an engaging way to practice spelling patterns and sounds.
Provided with each page is an answer key. However, to make the activity more challenging, you can cut the answer key from the answer sheet. The games can be run off and completed with a pencil or you can reuse them by laminating the cards and then having the kids use dry erase marker. There are 23 games total. All that is needed is a pencil and 6 sided die. The focus in on CVCe words and CVCe rhymes. Pages include single long vowel focus as well as a mix of long vowels.
*Rock Star Races
Game Goal: To capture and color as many stars as possible.
Directions for the game:
-Player One rolls the die. He/She should find that number on the game board and color one square. BEFORE he/she can color the square , the word must be read out loud. Player One should start at the bottom of his/her game board.
-Next, Player Two takes a turn (and does the same as above).
-As soon as a square touches/borders a star, that player can color it.
-If a 6 is rolled, you skip a turn (or roll again).
-The player with the most colored stars at the end of the game wins! 16 pages are included. Games include long vowel CVCe words as well as long vowel CVCe rhyming words.
*Roll & Color Graph Games
Kids roll, read, and color each CVCe word on his/her board. Games can be played alone, in pairs, or with a partner. All you need is a game board, 6 sided die, and crayon. 7 games are included.
Word searches are a lot of fun. These are great for practice and reinforcing the CVCe skill. They are especially handy for that kid who ALWAYS gets done with his/her regular work before everyone else in your class. 18 word searches are included (CVCe rhymes, long vowels).
*Roll & Color
This includes 13 Roll & Color game boards focusing on CVCe words (long vowel CVCe words, CVCe rhyming wrods, and short vowel words vs. CVCe words). All kids need to play is a game board, crayon, and 6 sided die.
*Roll & Write
This includes 18 games/pages where kids fill in the missing vowels from each word. All that is needed is a game board and 6 sided die. Specific directions are included with the packet.
Kids need a crayon and dice to use with this game board. It is played similar to traditional bingo except this game focuses on CVCe words and patterns and the kids get to color their word squares. There are 14 pages/game boards.
