As teachers we know how important it is for our students to develop questioning skills. Good questioning skills are a key component in critical thinking, metacognition, and self-regulation. The BIG QUESTION Game includes two sample non-fiction passages written at a 4th-6th grade level. The game requires students to generate questions about the text. As they move around the board student practice skills that promote active reading, strengthen comprehension, and model study habits. The game cards can be easily customized to work with any text-book or literature that you are using in your classroom. A blank game board is also included to further facilitate creative customizing.
Before I play The BIG QUESTION Game with my students, I introduce questioning skills with a simplified version of the game with a similar title called The Question game. You can find this FREE resource my store.
