A great introduction to Graphic Design, this PowerPoint presentation/lesson covers all of the basic design elements such as Color, Line, Form, Shape, Size, Type, Texture, the Color Wheel, Alignment, Contrast, Proportion, Balance, Emphasis, Viewpoint, Proximity, Rhythm, Raster/Vector graphics, and more. I use this with my Graphic Design and Illustration students to expose them to the basics of art and graphic design, but this would be great in any class that needs to touch on these subjects such as first year Art, Web design, Desktop Publishing, Digital Graphics, and many more. Offered in pptx format so you can edit it if needed, or you can save it in ppsx format so you can use it right away with your students. 50 review questions are included in the presentation to check student understand at various intervals and to offer opportunities for further discussion. Two answer keys are included - one that is only the answers and a second that lists each question with its answer along with a brief explanation on various questions detailing why the right answer is what it is. The entire presentation generally takes a few days to complete and is a great starting point for more in-depth and detailed discussions.
