Barbara Kingsolver's novel The Bean Trees and Chimamanda Ngoze Adiche's TED Talk "The Danger of a Single Story" (found here: https://www.ted.com/talks/chimamanda_adichie_the_danger_of_a_single_story?language=en) make a powerful pair. This is a list of reflective questions on both pieces that can be used, in whole or in part, as short writing assignments, discussion questions, or station work.

Note: I use these questions as in-class prewriting for an essay on The Bean Trees, and they were written with the assumption that the entire novel has been read.
