I've seen and heard a lot about the "Beautiful Stuff" project so I began researching it and I'm quite interested in doing this in my classroom. It's a great way to get families involved with student learning. It involves having students engaged in literacy and numeracy activities by sorting all of the materials that children bring in and decorating the alphabet letters. I'm planning on starting the project within the next week by sending out a letter to families explaining what we are doing. Families will help their child find things to bring in such as things from nature, metal things, fake flowers, string, ribbon, beads, anything small to decorate an 8 1/2 x 11 size alphabet letter. I plan on sharing our classes journey through the "Beautiful Stuff" project on here as we go!
