The Best Halloween Ever
by Barbara Robinson is an inventive tale about a group of six brothers and sisters who wreak havoc on their small town. The mayor is fed up with the Herdmans and their chaos, so he cancels Halloween! Your students will laugh out loud at all of the Herdmans' shenanigans. After the reading, use these worksheets to review singular and plural possessive noun forms. All examples, except those referenced by a page number, derive from the story.
Use the holiday as an extension of your curricular goals rather than a detour. Use this in Literature Circles
