These resources have helped my students TREMENDOUSLY in making their writing more colorful and interesting! This unit contains my favorite writing resources!
Take A Look Inside....
Word Book: There are 3 different levels of student word books. All the words are taken from Fry's High Frequency Word List and are in alphabetical order. Each page has extra lines for students to record their own words. There are also word lists for colors, numbers, weather, holidays, and days and months of the year. The books are in b/w to save on printer cartridge.
The SUPER Writing Folder: This seriously is the BEST writing folder! I include detailed directions on how to create these folders. Each set has lasted me 7+ years because they are made to be sturdy. I never have problems with students losing their writings when we use this folder because it organizes student writings.
In Other Words Word Charts: There are 2 different headings: one with pictures for a more primary look and the other without pictures for a more upper grade look. These word charts are displayed up in your room for teacher and students to refer to during writing time and when learning new words. The words on these charts are words that I found to be overused in student writing. These charts have seriously made my students' writing more colorful as they learn new vocabulary.
"My Weekend Was..." chart: A perfect chart for students to use while speaking and writing to build vocabulary.
Word Lists/Bank – 2 different levels of word lists. One for younger students with less words so it's not overwhelming and the other for older students who you think can handle more words/pages. These word lists contain words that make writings more “colorful” and interesting. This satisfies the CCSS with students understanding and using shades of meanings.
