The Big Game unit is filled with integrated activities related to football and/or the Super Bowl. (Includes all 14 activities below)

1) Football Concessions: Math - Students solve money problems about concession items at the Super Bowl. This activity includes 24 concession stand word problem pages with QR codes for self-checking, but there's also a recording page and a printable answer key if QR codes are not used.

2) Scoreboard Math: Math - Students solve football-related scoreboard problems. This activity includes 20 task cards to post around the room, a recording page, and an answer key.

3) Paper Football Math: Math - Students create their own paper footballs and measure the distances traveled. Includes follow-up problems to solve. (paper footballs not included)

4) Super Bowl Cheer: Writing/Drama - Students write a cheer for their favorite team following requirements using parts of speech, rhythm, and rhyme. This activity includes a projectable directions page and a writing page for students.

5) Super Bowl Commercial: Writing/Drama - Students write a must-see TV commercial to present to the class. (Includes writing page, visual page, and directions)

6) The Ultimate Halftime Snack: Writing - Students will write a "How-To", providing ingredients and directions for creating the ultimate halftime snack for the Super Bowl.

7) Football Shaped Book: Writing - Students can publish their own football-themed stories in this shape book. (primary and intermediate lined football paper included). This activity also includes several writing prompts for students who may have trouble thinking of football-related stories to write.

8) Touchdown Making Words: Language - Students manipulate letters from the word "touchdown" to make new words. This activity includes 4x6 letters to use in a pocket chart, as well as a independent making words page for students.

9) Football Compound Challenge: Language - Students roam the room to find the other two students holding words to make a compound word "chain." An answer key is included.

10) Qualities of a Champion: Reading/Language - Students create flipbooks telling how they have demonstrated qualities of a champion using vocabulary words.

11) Teammates Class Book: Reading/Writing - After reading Game Day or Teammates by Tiki and Ronde Barber, students will brainstorm other famous "mates" or "pairs" and use a pair to create a class book page about teammates. This activity includes food pair cards for students to roam and match up, a brainstorming page for thinking of famous food, people, and "other" pairs, a class book page for writing about a time he/she has been a good teammate with someone, and a cover page for binding the class book.

12) Super Cities: Social Studies - Students will research the two teams' cities and record important information on a chart to share. A separate PowerPoint file is also included that teachers of primary students may use to share this information with students (the teacher will have to research and plug in the information).

13) Sports Jersey Glyph: Art/Math - Students will create a sports Jersey Glyph and complete a follow up scavenger hunt activity. (includes 2 jersey templates, glyph directions and scavenger hunt activity sheet)

14) Super Bowl Ticket Designer: Art/Math - Students will design their own Super Bowl tickets for this year's game using math-related guidelines.
