This is a comprehensive lesson that addresses new vocabulary, use of context clues, story elements, story retell, comparing and contrasting, answering "wh" questions, and comparative/superlatives. It is a great accompaniment to the book, The Biggest Christmas Tree Ever and follows the progression of the story to teach and encourage the use of context clues. This lesson is complete with learning goals and scales. I strongly recommend chunking this lesson into small digestible bites to address the concepts at a pace that is comfortable for all of your students.
This unit displays nicely on a Smartboard for whole group instruction, a tablet for small group lessons, speech teletherapy platforms, or it could be printed and used in your literacy centers.
