Do you love STEM activities? A fun winter one is using marshmallows and toothpicks to build the tallest snowman in the class. Students try different ways to make their snowman and measure the height. I use this STEM story to introduce the challenge. The story focuses on brothers and sisters competing to see who can build the tallest snowman. There is a projectable version (you can view a slideshow in pdf) and a printable student version of the story.
If you like this, check out my other STEM stories! I am working to make a bundle of them, stay tuned!
