The Blending Coaster Phonemic Awareness Segmenting and Blending Activity

Strong phonemic awareness is essential to reading success. The Blending Rollercoaster is the perfect small group activity to practice segmenting and blending words! Your students will LOVE driving their rollercoaster car down the tracks as they segment each word and blend it back together.

How to use this phonemic awareness activity:

1. Attach the rollercoaster cars to a popsicle stick
2. Show students a picture or say a word
3. Students will drive their car down the rollercoaster track as they say each sound.
4. When they get to the end, students will blend the word back together.

You can do this phonemic awareness activity with pictures or completely orally! Picture cards are not included in this download.

This set includes options for segmenting words with 3, 4, or 5 phonemes. It includes both color and black and white options.
