Some of my upper elementary students are struggling with the "bossy r" sounds, so I created this game. The game has multi-syllabic ar, er, ir, and ur sounds that students practice as they play.
ALSO INCLUDED: Blank game board that you can adapt to anything your students need to practice!!!
Directions: This game is played just like the Hasbro game Sorry.
Students have two markers sitting in their “home position”.
Students must roll a 1 or a 6 for their player to get out of the home spot.
Once a player is out, students roll the dice to move around the game board. Students must read the word correctly to stay on the spot, or they have to move back .
If they land on a “Go Back Home” their player has to return home.
The winner is the first person to get both of their players in to the “safety triangles.”
**A blank game board is given for you to adapt any way you like. You could choose spelling, phonics, prefixes, suffixes or root words that students are struggling with**
