These chapter questions for The Boxcar Children were written to check for understanding and to practice looking back at the text for the answers. The questions have been written to mimic the types of questions that are on the STAAR test. I have done this novel study for years and I wanted to be able to help introduce the STAAR reading skills earlier in the year with an easier novel. The questions are a great way to show the format of the test and what the questions will look like. The types of skills included are summary, sequencing, inferencing, context clues, main idea, details, fact and opinion, and antonyms and synonyms.
