For this game, students create a fictious $2,000 budget to live on and then play a board game using that budget to simulate living within a budget while paying bills. Along the way, students draw fate cards that either earn them additonal money or cost them money. The winner is the player who has the most savings at the end of the game. After the game is over, students reflect, in writing, about what they learned about preparing a budget. This is a great lesson for AVID as money managment something all future college students need to learn.
