PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Burning of the Gaspee is an illustrated Power Point poem about an important historical event, which helped lead to the American Revolution. A British patrol ship ran aground and was eventually burned by local Rhode Island merchants and captains, in protest to restrictive policies towards smugglers and rum runners. An English officer was shot but no one was charged with the crime. The merchants and captains dressed as natives well before the Boston Tea Party, almost two years later.
