Product Description
Can your civilization withstand the test of time?
Eighteen years ago, our cofounder Lyn Lord started using Civilization in the classroom. It quickly became apparent that Civilization could help teach students essential decision-making skills. The events in Civilization are small, accessible simulations of real-world, historic events. By controlling different variables in the game –like location, trade, and military actions –students learn how choices affect outcomes. They also witness two important aspect of all decision-making: interactions between different decisions and how multiple decisions compound effects. If you’re looking for a way to encourage students to critically engage with historical events, this is the lesson plan for you.
