In this activity, students read "The Carrot Seed" by Ruth Krauss, or another related book, such as "The Tiny Seed", by Eric Carle. Following the read aloud, students sort the pictures provided (for each step) and glue them onto the appropriate page (step 1, step 2, etc) in their booklet. After students correctly sequence the steps for making dirt pudding, students use their "How To" booklets to make the pudding cups. Follow each step and enjoy!
(Pictures provide support for struggling learners, or students with disabilities - to extend this lesson for HAL students, words can be covered and students can write their own directions to match the pictures for each step)
