This project prompts students to build and work with catapults in order to model a real world parabola. This is a great project to facilitate in any Algebra 1 classroom because it will offer a tangible connection to quadratic functions.

This task works well as a group project. I recommend offering two class periods for collaborative work time and then giving students one week to independently complete the written and visual components of this project.
