This engaging activity is fun for students as well as for teachers! In this product, students will synthesize information from the text of The Catcher in the Rye in order to evaluate how Holden and Sally's date went. This product allows students the chance to "live tweet" the conversation between Sally and Holden, create a visual depiction of Sally's outfit, and lots more all the while keeping students motivated when reading and engaging with the text.
I recommend using this as an in-text activity and reading aloud to students as they fill out the worksheet; it is still extremely effective if students do this by themselves, but in class, you will be able to assess students' understanding of the text as well as direct them to the relevant portions of the graphic organizer. Also, if you do this activity in class, it lends itself well to a turn-and-talk discussion with a partner or a whole class discussion about the chapter. This activity is a lifesaver!
