This activity is a one that is used at the upper elementary level or high school, but may be modified to help students learn how to communicate and work together at any age. There's no equipment required and it can be done in a race, for time, or just to see how the students work among themselves. The students connect themselves to look like a catepillar and travel from one point to the next using the following concepts: gross motor skills, teamwork, cooperation, sportsmanship, body control, muscular strength, muscular endurance, balance, communication, and listening skills.
A great activity to test the patience of the students while working with their peers. This is a cooperative activity that will help students learn to work together. If you're looking for something different try it.
