An original suite of five movements (or pieces) for recorder players who have the basic skills and want more of a challenge. It uses the notes BAG for the most part, introducing C and D in natural manner later on.
Each movement can be used as a stand-alone piece of music or as a full cohesive suite. It is quite possible for the class to create a story around this music.
One of the dangers of BAG music is the key of "G". Although "G" is (more or less) used in the first and last pieces, the middle three studiously avoid it, providing interesting ways to harmonize a BAG tune.
The five pieces are:
1: A New Day... Things to Do
2: Sleepy Moggie
3: I Spy a Mouse
4: Snuggle Up (Introducing "C")
5: Cats Rule the World (And they need a "D" to do it!)
Included in the pack:
* MP3 files with a recorder playing the melody. (Which is a great help while learning the songs).
* MP3 files with no recorder. (Ideal for performance track use, if a live piano is not available).
* PDF of the score.
* PDF of the recorder part.
The piano part is fairly easy to play and could even be managed by one (or two) of the children.
This is just one of many works I’ve written for children and adults alike. If you would like something written for you, then I am always also open to composing with any ideas that you have.
