This Word document is a synopsis of the plot of the novel by Theodore Taylor in "Fill in the blanks" format. It is divided into individual chapter units. Students demonstrate their understanding of the plot by completing the cloze.

It is an active learning activity. A word bank is supplied, but you could redact this to make the task more challenging.
