Students can actively read about the prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells and take notes on well-organized concept maps and charts. Organelle structure and function is covered in a variety of ways (guided notes, matching cards, lab). Students will also compare and contrast plant and animal cells with an easy-to-prep lab. The lab uses everyday materials (human cheek cells, onion cell, potato cell, and an Elodea cell). This bundled unit has it all: reading, guided notes (with answer key), a homework worksheet, a project (with rubric), a lab, and cards to sort and match. These items are engaging and enable students to be in charge of their own learning.
