This is a cartoon book that illustrates the organelles in a the cell. Each page contains an organelle and shows what it looks like and what it does. It is written in the style of a children's book. I show this book to my high school students as an example, and then have them write their own book as a class. Each student is responsible for one page of the book (one organelle per student). I piece together their book and we read it as a class. The students are proud of their work, engaged in the activity and truly learn both cellular organelles and their functions. (We use an animal cell but a plant cell can be used instead).
