The Cell Theory Timeline Lineup Project is an easy research project to get students to engage with how and who helped the discovery of The Cell Theory.
It takes each student in your class to help put together, through a timeline, who helped with new technology, discoveries, and experiments to develop and modify The Cell Theory we know today.
The students research on one scientist they randomly pick, make a poster (8.5 in X 11 in computer paper) based on criteria in the project powerpoint, silently line up based on the dates on the timeline, post their posters on the wall linearly, and gather information needed to complete a graphic organizer by doing a silent gallery walk from poster to poster.
This could be a weekly research project started at home and finished in class, part of stations that are posted around your classroom, or a one day activity.
