The cell as a system lesson plan is an entertaining, interactive lesson to teach students how all of the organelles of the cell work together to create proteins. With this presentation, teachers will have an amazing interactive tool in their hands, where they can model the cell along with their students, for a clear, organized presentation. Each organelle and their functions are described in the process to create proteins.
For the teacher: The presentation begins with a blank cell. Ask students to draw the cell and its membrane in a white paper. Together, with the students, add each of the organelles as they are required to create a protein. Begin with the nucleus (included) and end with the final product (a protein). After all students have finished drawing, ask them to summarize the process in which the cell as a system creates proteins.
This is a great way to present the information and show students how all of the organelles work together. It was created for Smart Board notebook, but I have uploaded a power point version as well (in the preview). Enjoy!
