In this lesson presentation the teacher will teach a grammar lesson on gerunds and infinitives using the love for chimpanzees as the context. At the beginning, students are instructed to give a presentation about two animals they have researched and written about in the previous lesson. As students present, the remaining of the class should be taking notes writing down at least three things they learn from listening to their peers present their research about two types of animals. Afterwards, the teacher is to give an overview with example sentences about Gerunds and Infinitives including a Guided Practice and an Independent Practice. Both segments include an Answer Key. Longman Keystone Level D Workbook page 227 is required to incorporate the Homework component of the lesson. The lesson is designed and intended for High School ESOL students in the High Beginning / Low Intermediate English Language Proficiency level.
