The activities in this file are designed to supplement your study of the novel, The Chocolate Touch. The materials are perfect for small guided reading groups, literature circles, or even independent reading. You will find that the file contains organizers and activities that may be copied and made into a packet for your students. I have also included some of those same activities, along with a few different ones in a format that could be used in a Reading Interactive Notebook/Journal or made into a lapbook for the study.
You will find a copy of my version of the story, The Golden Touch- The Story of King Midas. This story would be perfect to share with your students as a pre-reading activity. This would give students a chance to compare and contrast the two stories with a similar theme, characters, and problem.

I hope that your students enjoy the book and the activities as much as my students have. There are just SO many wonderful connections that can be made with the book. It’s definitely one of my students favorites and provides a perfect connection to the mythology unit I do with my students as well.
