Purpose: The overarching goal of this lesson is to teach students about the circulatory and respiratory systems. This lesson comes after learning about the muscular and nervous system, and before moving into the digestive system. It is important for them to have a basic understanding of how blood is pumped through their body and why it’s necessary.
Objectives: As a result of this lesson:
• Students will be able to identify the general functions of the circulatory and respiratory system.
• Students will be able to describe the path of blood throughout the heart.
• Students will be able to explain how the circulatory system interacts with the respiratory system.
