To describe the importance of cities in the way of life of the African people.
1 class period
Students begin by reading through fifteen sentences about the cities of Africa. Each statement contains a missing word, name, or term that must be identified. Two or more letters in each answer are given as clues.
For the second half of the activity, class members will need an atlas or map of Africa to help them identify capitals and other major cities of various African countries. The map will also be used to determine the geographic locations of several cities and how near or far they are from the equator and coast.
Easy-to-follow Teacher Instructions and answer key included.
