Product Description
In this short activity students read the various diary entries written by 10 year old Carrie Berry as she experiences the bombardment and burning of Atlanta. As a young girl Carrie vividly describes how life was for civilians living in the midst of war in Georgia during 1864.

At the end of the assignment is a question asking students to compare Carrie's diary entries with a video of the burning of Atlanta as depicted in "Gone With the Wind"

These document based questions help students learn of how young Americans in the South experienced the events of the Civil War as civilians.
