This brief 11-slide power point presentation is designed to be used in either a World History or US History class to introduce students to the beginning of the Cold War. The presentation takes students through the alignment of East and West after WWII and includes topics such as the formation of NATO and the Warsaw Pact, the Truman Doctrine, the Marshall Plan, and the division of Germany. While only designed to be used as an introduction, there are specific topic power points available on TpT related to the
"Events of the Cold War", the "Korean and Vietnam Wars", and the "End of the Cold War". Putting the four power points together completes a full unit on the Cold War and can be applied to both World and US History classes. Be sure to search for the skeleton outlines available on TpT for each lecture that students can use to take the notes.
