Topics addressed: Color theory; Complementary colors; Analagous colors, Adjacent colors; Triadic colors; and the Color wheel
The Color Game is designed to improve understanding and retention when teaching basic color theory. It gives students the opportunity to practice working with adjacent, analagous, complementary, and triadic color combinations in a social, active setting.
The Game includes instructions and two sets of color cards (but you may print as many as you wish for your class). Cards come in two formats, swatches or words. Students work out various color relationships as small groups and as a whole class.
Appropriate for elementary and middle school levels, but fun review for 9th graders too.
