Product Description
Artists use color to symbolize feelings and emotions, but a color doesn’t always carry the same meaning every time it is used in a painting. For example, black can represent contrast, emptiness, darkness, death, or even evil. But it can also stand for formality – like a “black tie” event! Sometimes, we must use the rest of the clues in a painting to interpret colors.

Use the following list of color meanings to help you complete the assignment. Your answers must analyze the colors using these descriptions:

BASIC COLORS
The Meaning of the Color Blue - strong, important, in control, prosperous, peaceful, intelligent, calm, cold, formal, spirited, depressed
The Meaning of the Color Green - growth, health, environment, harmony, youthful, eternal, jealous
etc.

All images are included as well as a chart that gives the various meanings for each color.

Let's the student analyze and assess color in paintings. A new way to look for meaning in art.
