This unit on verbs has all the parts of the gradual release model: I do, we do, and you do. For each lesson, the first page is a “hook” page to get the students interested in the lesson. Many times there will be a website address on this page so that students can watch a video about the objective (sometimes the website is a Brainpop video, for which you will need a subscription). After the hook page, there is an objective page where students can read the objective of the lesson and go over vocabulary. Some of the vocabulary is also given in Spanish. Next is a teaching page where the teacher can show his/her students how to reach the objective. The students will then have a language objective with about 5 practice items. Then there is a page that can be printed out so that students can practice with a partner using accountable talk. The final page is the exit ticket which can be printed or used with clickers to make sure the students have reached the objective. It is meant to be a quick check on whether or not the students met the objective, and it has 4 or more questions. Each lesson has sentence stems that can be used with English Language Learners.
