This two page worksheet on the figurative language in Pat Carr's "The Confidence Game" has 3 parts; in Part 1 the students have to match the examples of figurative language Carr uses to their definitions:
parallel structure, alliteration, repetition, simile, onomatopoeia, personification, metaphor, and irony. In Part 2 students have to match the same terms to examples. In Part 3 students have to identify 20 quoted examples taken directly for the story. Additionally, there is a thought question at the end. A two page answer KEY is provided with the clues boldfaced in Part 3.
