This is a great supplementary package to a research unit on the Coral Reef. Included are activities for Geography, Math, Reading and Writing. For Geography, there is both a map on the Coral Reefs of the world, and a map of fossil reefs between Texas and New Mexico. For Math there are 3 activities. There is a hidden mystery coral reef animal that is revealed when students complete the math facts (which include regrouping of 3 digit numbers in both subtraction and addition, as well as multiplication, a multiplication sheet of visual sets (see preview for further explanation) and a set of 9 word problems requiring regrouping of large numbers (3 to 4 digits, requiring regrouping) and multiplication. For reading, there is an activity about the symbiosis between clown fish and sea anemones. For writing, there are 2 activities to help develop students' punctuation of quotations, as well as Coral Reef topics activity that can help develop paragraphs and essays on the Coral Reef. I can't forget to add "The Jellyfish Game". It's a board game that I developed to help students understand how jellyfish move, who their predators are, and how they think (well, really don't think). This board game can be adapted to include other topics besides the Coral Reefs, but has content included for the Coral Reef. Answer Keys are included where they apply.
