Even though The Count of Monte Cristo was written more than 150 years ago, the story is just as thrilling as it ever was. Your high school students will be engrossed in the Count's schemes of revenge and will be shocked by all the twists and turns along the way. This novel is an excellent choice for introducing your students to the literature of the 19th century; eliminating the stigma that sometimes exists among young readers that classic literature requires that it be boring. The Count of Monte Cristo is anything but boring, and your students will be captured by the story.
COMPATIBLE FOR ANY VERSION that is 71 chapters or more, as well as the unabridged. In writing my products, I used the *somewhat* abridged 71 chapter version, which many people believe to be the "unabridged" version. But there are about 20 or more abridged versions (which mostly coincide in regards to major plot points). The unabridged (English) version has 117 chapters. The 71 chapter book I used is a paperback "Barnes & Noble" classics edition, ISBN: 0-7607-2378-8.
