The Lesson included in this purchase is centered on themes from the Children’s Book, “The Crayon Box that Talked,” by Shane DeRolf. This lesson was intended to be used in a school based small group setting for the purpose of teaching social skills and character development. Each of my group lessons, content and materials, can be easily adjusted to serve the individual student and or caregiver(s) and student(s) in the home, center or school based settings to teach social skills, developmental concepts, and character development through age appropriate materials.
Each lesson includes:
1. A caregiver Letter discussing the session’s intended purpose, the social skill/theme emphasized and its importance in a young learner’s development as well as home based suggestions for caregiver involvement in the continued learning process.
2. Recommended Children’s story by title, author and amazon purchase link
3. A Hands on activity, exercise, game and or craft suggestion to engage young learners in skill practice around the central theme/social skill.
4. Any suggested hand-outs that can be utilized with the purchased lesson plan.
If you find that this purchased lesson plan format is helpful in guiding your services in the classroom, Center, therapeutic or home based settings, please explore my other upcoming uploads and lesson plans on a variety of topics towards providing a series of social emotional and behavioral based learning sessions.
