The Creativity Activity Kit from The Art Cart is great for any grade level and any subject area. Creativity, collaboration and visual literacy are the 21st century thinking skills that I focus on with these activities. These activities are very versatile and can be used at the beginning or end of a lesson and should really help get your students creative juices flowing. This kit has 7 printables and activities to use in your classroom.
The kit includes:
1. What is a Rollo? (Listening Activity)
-Students will hear a list of descriptions and they are able to create their "Rollo" based on these descriptions. It is so fun to share at the end of the activity to see how different they are!
2. Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak
Pass the Picture (Literacy Link)
-Students work in groups of three and collaborate on a 'Wild Thing' drawing.
3. Creative Draw Together
-Students will divide their paper and draw prompts from a bucket to fill in each section. This is a way for them to explore new ideas!
4. Doodle Drawing
-Complete the picture drawing! There is a printable explanation of this activity that can be attached to it when it goes home.
5. Creativity Test and XOXO (Hugs and Kisses Challenge)
-In this activity, students will turn basic shapes and doodles into something new. This really gets them thinking! (This is two activities)
6. Design a __________________.
-The teacher will fill in the blank or they can work as partners with another student. This is adaptable to many lessons. (I used it to have students design a modern backpack.)
