Students are asked to identify their favorite part of these chapters, give a quick summary of what they have read in these 2 chapters, identify new characters met along the way, and draw a picture to represent the chapters.
Ch 15 with room to "re-write the ending"
Students are given 5 short sentences directly from the book with a vocabulary word underlined and bolded. In the next column, students must INFER what they believe the word to mean, and finally, look up the real dictionary definition in the third column. At the bottom of each page, they must choose one vocabulary word and write their own sentence.
*Examples of vocabulary words include: abandoned, bustle, intently, cautiously, stiffer, contentment, sternly, boomed, wearily, etc.*
