Hello English teachers!
This higher-level thinking Unit Exam to complete a Crucible Unit is great resource with which to assess your students on the things that matter!
This exam includes:
-Character Matching: Students must match the character to the character description. If students truly know the characters from the play, they will be able to match them; also, this gives the students a chance to analyze as an assessment.
-True/False: This is the chance to boost students' confidence. I purposely make these question a bit easier to prepare students for the next three portions of the test.
-Multiple Choice: These multiple choice questions are NOT basic recall questions. Instead, students are asked about the themes of the play and what certain quotes signify for character or plot development.
-Speaker Identification: Students must identify the speaker of important quotes within the play.
-Quote Significance (HIGHER LEVEL THINKING REQUIRED!): This is the part of the test that I truly assess my students continuing ability to analyze a character's choices and textual evidence. Students are required to identify the speaker of the quote and explain, in detail, the significance of the quote to the story as a whole.
Also, included in this organized, easily accessible exam is a KEY.
I hope this makes your life easier, and helps your students grow in your English class!
