This is a handout for a project I designed to be the final assessment for Arthur Miller's work, The Crucible. This handout serves as both the explanation of the project and the rubric for grading the project. Students are able to choose between 5 different creative project ideas to showcase their strengths (for example, if a student feels they are stronger artistically than they are as writers, they can choose one of the project prompts that asks for a visual element). The project can be used to assess basic understanding, as well as in-depth reflections of themes and relationships within the text. I used this project with a 7th grade class, but it can be adapted for use with older students as well. It can also be adapted for literary texts other than The Crucible.
