Product Description
For this unit, the students will be doing a research paper. What I've noticed is that a lot of my kids don't know how to effectively research information for a paper, or cite it, but that's another time. For this lesson, you will be going to the library or computer lab or breaking out that laptop cart. Let's face it, technology is here to stay and the kids know more about it then we do sometimes. I want them to be able to use the technology they already have the knowledge of, but for school purposes. They will explore different types of web pages, including educational websites, blogs, Wikipedia, etc. We'll discuss what websites are vaild and can be cited for a research paper and which ones you might use just to get an overview before you dig deeper into a topic. Also help them navigate around your school's databases in the library! When they get to college, they'll be glad they were taught how and what to do in a database.
