Product Description
The Cuban Missile Crisis can be a complicated and difficult topic to study. Attempting to find an activity for your students to complete can be tough. Do you want to go totally PAPERLESS? We have a fully comprehensive and interactive activity to meet all of your needs!

This "The Cuban Missile Crisis " Digital Activity includes:

1) A timeline of the 13 days of the crisis in which your students will be able to see the order of events and the responses that each side took. Students will see these reactions and they will be asked to determine what the possible outcome of each decision would be. Many times when teaching this crisis, we don't have the time to teach what happened on every day. However, with this activity, students will be engaged with content that will make them masters of the "CMC". Following the timeline, students will meet two talking heads, Kennedy and Khrushchev, and will be asked to fill in thoughts they may have had during the "CMC". This allows students to not only examine what the United States was thinking during the crisis, but also to step into the shoes of the Soviet Union and try to understand what they might have been thinking as well.

Next students will be asked about two very important outcomes of the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty and the Hotline. Students are asked about why these two things came about with regards to the crisis. Finally, students will analyze a political cartoon as well as a map that shows the radius the missiles in Cuba could reach.

Once your students complete this activity, they will be experts in the events of the Cuban Missile Crisis!

This activity can be used in many different ways in the classroom. Students can work independently, in pairs or this activity can be used as a jigsaw in order to facilitate a class wide discussion about the topics discussed in the activity.

2) A detailed answer key to the lesson activity to save you time and help guide student comprehension.

This activity can also be found in a bundle paired with a PowerPoint, Keynote and PDF version of a fully customizable lecture found here:
