A research and inquiry project. Students have the freedom to choose a topic of interest to them, formulate investigative questions and carry out research modeled on high school internal assessments. Students then use their research to complete set tasks.
This assessment is adaptable in terms of presentation - they could also present a digital project or create a model/diorama to present what they have learnt. This introduces research techniques and provides a scaffolded step by step introduction to the research process.
This is adaptable for junior / primary school years or for the IB exhibit project. I have used this successfully in 1 -2 week blocks at the end of terms, after I have completed my set topics.
