Are you looking for questions and activities to guide your students' reading, but are tired of "busy work" handouts? I developed this read-along packet when I knew I was going to be out of the classroom for several days. I wanted the substitute to have something easy to do with the students, but I also wanted them to work on higher level comprehension. This packet is full of high level comprehension questions to guide reading, and a few activities to help the students think about the character of Christopher. Each section of the packet corresponds to a specific number of pages in the book. You will have to provide the pre- and post-reading activities and assessments, but this is a great tool for during-reading lessons.
