The Daily Grind was designed as a seat work activity for students to complete when they first walk into the classroom. I find that having an activity ready cuts down on behavior issues and makes every moment count. I made The Daily Grind for Smart Boards and as a printable. Students can turn work in to be graded or grading can be a whole class discussion since each activity only takes a few minutes.
The Daily Grind weekly agenda includes:
Monday: Quote of the Week
Tuesday: Vocabulary
Wednesday: Grammar
Thursday: Phonics
Friday: Comprehension
Each month includes five weeks of activities.

The printables are two to a page to cut down on copying and paper use. My corporation uses Reading Street from Pearson. All work was pulled from the third grade Scope and Sequence.
*****Works well with 3rd and 4th grade!*****
*I will be adding a new The Daily Grind each month!

Please feel free to check out my store for other workstation/center activities!
Thanks a bunch,
